On Thursday, September 17, 2020, a press conference was held at the School of Medicine in Split to mark World Patient Safety Day.
The current situation in Croatia was presented at the conference, which primarily refers to the preservation of patient safety during the COVID-19 era. In addition, Jasna Karačić presented the manual "Evidence-Based Patient", which will be available to students, and which was developed in collaboration with UNESCO. Josip Perić, a lawyer with the Croatian Association for the Promotion of Patients' Rights, proposes the computerization of the entire waiting list system and the participation of the private health sector in these times.
Irena Zakarija-Grković, co-director of Cochrane Croatia, emphasized the importance of Cochrane's role in creating a safe environment in healthcare decision-making, with the fact that Cochrane Croatia and the Croatian Association for thePromotion of Patients' Rights are partners and can work together to improve patient safety.
