It is our great pleasure to inform you about the maintenance of the workshop "Assessing risk of bias in randomized trials: ROB2", which will be held on June 27, 2019 at the School of Medicine in Split, starting at 9 o'clock.
Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) provide evidence about the effects of healthcare interventions. However, flaws in design, conduct, analyses and reporting potentially undermine the accuracy of trial results. Therefore, assessments of risk of bias in results of the included RCTs are mandatory in Cochrane systematic reviews. The revised Cochrane Risk of Bias tool (RoB 2) is a major update to the Cochrane tool for assessing risk of bias in RCTs.
In this workshop dr. Tianjing Li i dr. Jelena Savović will introduce participants to the key features of RoB 2 tool: the result-specific risk of bias assessments, the requirement to determine whether the focus of the review is in the effect of assignment to intervention or adhering to an intervention, and the use of signalling questions within each domain that lead to algorithm-guided risk of bias judgements. They will then explain the domains assessed in RoB 2 (bias arising from the randomization process, bias due to deviations from intended interventions, bias due to missing outcome data, bias in the measurement of the outcome, and bias in the selection of the reported result). A worked example assessing risk of bias in an RCT will be used to provide hands-on training and facilitate discussion.
We are looking forward to your arrival!
