At the invitation of Dr. Patrick Vankrunkelsven from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium (La Katholieke Universiteit Leuven), mr. sc. Jasna Karačić, head of the UNESCO Department for Patients' Rights and a member of Cochrane Croatia, visited the Belgian Center for Evidence-Based Medicine and the Belgian Cochrane centre. The meeting was an opportunity to exchange experiences and ideas on the impact of COVID-19 on patients in terms of conscientious, unequivocal and critical application of the best available evidence in decision-making when delivering care for every single patient. It was also an opportunity to talk about opportunities for Croatian and Belgian Cochrane centres to work together on improving the quality of health care by identifying and promoting the best practice. The meeting emphasised communication in healthcare and understanding medical documentation. Agreements were made on further steps to be taken for establishing cooperation and joining forces for future projects.
