Our Ana Utrobičić, a woman who enriched the Croatian Cochrane with her dedicated work and without whom much of our research would not have been possible, is now the head of the University Library in Split.
In an interview for Slobodna Dalmacija, she talks about the importance of library work, what Cochrane revealed to her and her plans for improving the work of the University Library.
We single out one nice quote. Namely, when asked why it is important to read, Ana Utrobičić answers the following:
"Because reading enables the development of the ability of one's own opinion, clearer and more precise expression of one's own thoughts and feelings, by adopting and developing language skills. And language is a miracle in itself. It is not only a mean of communication, as is usually stated, but also a mean of thinking. It structures thought and therefore it doesn’t matter if you nurture your language or not. It reflects your inner self, your spirit, what it is, and how you can develop it differently if not by reading. That's why reading is important."
