On 9 September 2015 Cochrane Croatia translated its 1000th Plain Language Summary (PLS)! We started the Translating Cochrane Evidence Project at the beginning of 2013 and translated 350 PLSs in the first 18 months. We then incorporated the translation of PLSs into several courses at the University of Split School of Medicine, and put forward an open invitation to anyone who wanted to join us in this voluntary project. As a result of our crowdsourcing approach, 850 Cochrane PLSs were translated within a year, some of which we are yet to check, correct and publish.
